Former cricket players Saeed Ajmal and Umar Gul have been named the Pakistan men’s side tea’s bowling coaches. Ajmal will teach the team’s spinners, while Gul has been named as the fast bowling coach.
In the three-match T20I series against Afghanistan and the ensuing home series against New Zealand, Gul performed the same function for Pakistan. Additionally, he served as the bowling coach for Afghanistan in the 2022 ICC Men’s T20 Cricket World Cup and as the coach of the Quetta Gladiators in the Pakistan Super League.
After the news, Gul said he felt honored to get the chance to work with the Pakistan cricket team once more and how eager he was to do so.
“I am happy to join the Pakistani team as their bowling coach, and I consider myself privileged to have been given the chance to support Pakistani cricket by Mr. Zaka Ashraf, the chairman of the PCB Management Committee. In a statement issued by the PCB, Gul stated, “I will bring my coaching expertise with the aim of elevating Pakistan’s bowling prowess to new heights, having worked with the men’s side previously.”
I am incredibly appreciative and honored to have this chance. Saeed Ajmal
Additionally, Saeed Ajmal discussed the significant potential this role may present for him and expressed his eagerness to mentor and develop Pakistan’s spinners.
“I am extremely appreciative and honored that Mr. Zaka Ashraf, the Chairman of the PCB Management Committee, has given me the chance to work as the spin bowling coach. It gives me great pleasure to help the Pakistan national team’s spin bowling talent grow. I think my background as a coach and my career will add to the team’s repertoire of spin bowlers,” Ajmal stated.
