During Australia’s second T20I match at the Sydney Cricket Ground, Pakistan supporters cruelly taunted star batsman Babar Azam. The 30-year-old has played 21 Twenty20 International matches in 2024, but he has only managed to score 666 runs at a strike rate of 132.66. Fans of the Men in Green have now expressed their annoyance with Babar after the team was ousted from the T20 World Cup 2024 group stage while he was captain.
Babar was overheard saying during the game that he no longer belonged in T20Is. Social media users have taken to sharing the same video. “Jagah nahin banti teri T20 mein hai.” According to one supporter, “you don’t deserve a place in the T20 team.”
The former captain of Pakistan was notably left from the Test team earlier in the season. The team management had to bench him after he played the first Test match against England due to his great unreliability, and Kamran Ghulam took his place in the middle. In red-ball cricket, the 29-year-old may have cemented his place after hitting a century on his debut. Babar could be dropped from the red-ball cricket equation if the middle order continues to perform well, thus it is a terrible indication for him.

This is not acceptable at all. He’s our former captain and he’s our pride. Sharam karo sab. Stay strong, @babarazam258 🇵🇰♥️https://t.co/MbI4GHytMw

In cricket, even in white-ball cricket, Babar’s performance is troubling. He has already scored six runs in two T20I matches and made 37, 15*, and 28* runs in the ODI series against Australia. Ahead of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, the cricketer may be impacted by being rested for the series against Zimbabwe.
Babar had the opportunity to regain his rhythm throughout the Zimbabwe series. Mohammad Rizwan, the captain, is facing a difficult task at this time.

He must effectively handle Babar because every decision will generate a lot of talk and strain the squad because it will be discussed constantly.
