Paarl Royals join forces with a social investment organisation to assist women in the community.

Similar to sister franchise Rajasthan Royals, SA20’s Paarl Royals provide community support.
With the greater goal of elevating and inspiring the Boland region, the franchise has partnered with the Social Investment organisation Valcare to promote two programmes aimed at strengthening local women.

Paarl Royals, a SA20 franchise, announced on February 8 that they had partnered with Valcare, a Social Investment organisation, to fund two of their on-the-ground projects in the Paarl district.

The two projects, Elevation and Take A Step, empower women in the community by enhancing their skills and providing them with mentoring so that they are job-ready, keep professional positions, and develop their own enterprises.
As part of the Elevation Programme, disadvantaged women without a present source of income are trained in a variety of skills and then guided to the most suitable employment prospects.

Meanwhile, Take a Step is a 2022 initiative meant to empower women by assisting them in establishing small companies that prioritise profit and purpose. To empower and inspire the next generation of entrepreneurs, the programme aims to produce socially conscious entrepreneurs. It is intended to foster an entrepreneurial culture and assist women in establishing sustainable enterprises.

Alok Chitre, Chief Business Officer of Paarl Royals, commented on the collaboration and extension of support to the Paarl community, saying, “As a franchise group, we have always worked with the vision of impacting society through cricket, and we are thrilled to be able to extend that impact in our home region of Paarl. Through this effort in partnership with Valcare, we hope to serve the broader community in the region with a focus on empowering and mentoring women to become professionally involved and establish sustainable companies.”

Paarl Royals are preparing for the semifinals.

It should be mentioned that Rajasthan Royals, the sister team of Paarl Royals in the IPL, also supports causes pertaining to empowering women in the society through the Royal Rajasthan Foundation. On February 8, Wednesday, Paarl Royals will face Pretoria Capitals in the first semi-final of the event.
