Opening Game of CWG 2022 vs. India “A Real Challenge,” says an Australian woman

Australian all-rounder Tahlia McGrath stated their opening match vs India will be “a big test” at the 2022 Commonwealth Games.

Tahlia McGrath, an all-rounder for Australia, thinks India will pose a test in the opening game at Edgbaston on Friday. She also notes that India’s archrival, England, poses a significant danger to Australia’s Commonwealth Games campaign.

Tahlia just played in her first T20 match in October of last year, but she will be essential if Australia is to win the gold. She presently averages a staggering 247 in the T20 format, and in the women’s Ashes in January, she hit 91 not out from 49 balls.

On the night of the match, Tahlia remarked, “Twenty20 is a format that can go any way, so it’s going to be a really challenging competition, and India first up is going to be a fantastic test, but we’re feeling good.

The current global T20 and ODI cricket champions are Australia, the undeniable leaders in women’s cricket. At the Commonwealth Games, women’s cricket is being played for the first time.

Nothing except a gold will do for Australia in Birmingham, according to Tahlia.

We currently compete at that level, where winning every match and competition is the ultimate goal, according to Tahlia.

“We definitely have that hunger and that drive, and since women’s cricket is participating in the Commonwealth Games for the first time, everyone is a little bit more eager for it.”

England was chosen by the 26-year-old as being “high on the watch-list.”

“They have some really interesting young talent emerging, and they have been doing pretty well, so we have been going to keep an eye on them. They pose a serious danger in this competition.”
