Bangladesh will play Team India in a multi-format series. On September 19, both teams will square off in the first Test of the series at Chennai’s MA Chidambaram Stadium. Additionally, starting on September 27, the second Test will be held in Kanpur.
To wrap up the tour, both teams will play a three-game T20I series following the two-game Test series. Bangladesh’s head coach, Chandika Hathurusingha, spoke up ahead of the series to discuss what to expect.
He also talked about how much he is looking forward to the challenge of taking on the Indian squad and how competing against the best of the best is the real way to measure someone’s ability.
“Playing against the greatest team in the world and travelling to India is the greatest challenge available these days, and it inspires us.” As athletes, we always look forward to playing against the greatest since it always gives you a sense of where you stand “Hathurusingha stated at the press conference held before the game.
All of them instill great faith in this series: Chandika Hathurusingha
Hathurusingha also discussed Bangladesh’s recent victory over Pakistan in a series. It’s important to note that Bangladesh beat Pakistan in a two-game Test series played in their home country, and the team’s head coach believes they could carry that confidence into the India tour.
“We definitely have a lot more confidence going into this series after our victory against Pakistan. Apart from the result, we have a lot of faith in this series because of the way we played it and how we handled various scenarios, like falling behind and then making up for it, and the people who helped. This is most likely Bangladesh’s most well-rounded squad to date. We have many fast bowlers and have covered a lot of ground,” he remarked.
