During the current Test series against Pakistan, England bowler Olly Stone is scheduled to return to his home country. It seems improbable that he will make it back in time for the second Test in the triplicate match. The fast bowler’s wedding is scheduled for this weekend, thus he will be absent from the match.
Notably, Stone returned to the England Test team following a three-year absence following some impressive performances against Sri Lanka. Stone was benched in England’s opening Test match of the series against Pakistan in favor of Brydon Carse.
The decision to marry Olly Stone was made well in advance of his recall to the team, and for the same reason, the executives are fine with him leaving in the middle of the season.
Because I was only playing for Notts at the time, that’s how we planned the wedding. I insisted on preserving the wedding location if at all possible, but Jess said she would be pleased to shift it. “I felt it was the least I could do, given everything she has given up and sacrificed for me, to try and make it work,” Stone told the BBC.
In addition, legendary England batsman Joe Root took the mickey and discussed Olly Stone’s marriage. He stated that the entire team will be celebrating with his friend and expressed his excitement for him.
It’s a unique period in any person’s life. I’m quite happy for him. Despite the fact that he is probably disorganized due to everything going on, it will be extremely meaningful for him and his wife to begin a new chapter in their lives. At some point, all of us will be rejoicing and raising cold water to him, said Root.
