The Women’s T20 World Cup 2024, which will take place in Sharjah and Dubai, is scheduled to begin on October 3. It’s important to remember that the main event was originally scheduled to take place in Bangladesh, but it was shifted elsewhere owing to political unrest in the nation.
The International Cricket Council, or ICC, revealed the lineup of match officials for the competition in advance. There are three match referees and ten umpires on the list. In addition, the panel that was chosen consists entirely of experienced women.
The most seasoned player in the group is Claire Polosak, who has oddly officiated four Women’s T20 World Cups, including two that she will be officiating for the fourth time: Kim Cotton and Jacqueline Williams.
The ICC’s senior manager, Sean Easey, spoke up after the match officials were announced. He discussed how encouraging it has been for the board to support women’s sports by presenting an all-female lineup.
“The ICC is thrilled to be assisting in the progress of female athletes in our field. It is fantastic to announce an all-female panel of match officials for the 2024 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup. The ICC cited Sean Easey as saying, “This group is among the best from around the world, selected as the most deserving umpires for this event following their recent form in bilateral and other cricket.”
