News: IPL 2024 final to be held in Chennai’s MA Chidambaram Stadium

As the 17th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 gets underway, some significant news regarding the cricket carnival’s business end is emerging. The MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai is expected to host both one qualifier and the IPL 2024 final, if claims made recently are to be believed.

Nonetheless, the competition’s other qualifier and eliminator will take place at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium. It is noteworthy because the IPL 2023 final was held at the same stadium, with Chennai Super Kings defeating Gujarat Titans to win their fifth IPL championship.

India Today cited a top BCCI official as saying, “The IPL Governing Council has followed the tradition of holding the opening game and final at the home venue of last year’s defending champions—in this case, the Chennai Super Kings.”

In relation to the Chennai Super Kings, the team has participated in one Indian Premier League 2024 match thus far.

On March 22 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, CSK, under the direction of Ruturaj Gaikwad, faced Faf du Plessis’ Royal Challengers Bengaluru.

Chennai, who scored their first points of the game, dominated Bengaluru. The reigning champions will aim to keep up their good work, deliver even greater results, and hold the top spot in the rankings.

However, the Gujarat Titans have yet to play in their first Indian Premier League 2024 match. The team’s sixth match of the competition will take place on March 24 at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium against the five-time champion Mumbai Indians. Both clubs will be playing their first game of the season against each other, and they both want to start their IPL 2024 campaigns strong.
