The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and New Zealand Cricket both agreed that some small changes should be made to the upcoming white-ball series.
The first episode was supposed to air on April 13 in Karachi. But the cricket boards have made a few changes to the schedule. From April 14 to 17, the two teams will play three Twenty20 Internationals in Lahore before going to Rawalpindi for the last two Twenty20 Internationals.
After the five T20I games, the teams will play the same number of ODI games in Rawalpindi and Karachi. Karachi will host four ODIs, but the first 50-over match will take place in Rawalpindi. The white-ball tour will end with the fifth and last ODI on May 7. It’s important to note that this is a “additional tour,” but the games will still affect the ICC Team Rankings.
Plans are in full swing for the ODI World Cup in 2023.
Since the ODI World Cup is coming up in 2023, both teams will try to get the most out of the ODI series. The five-match series is a great chance to try out different lineups and find a core for the mega ODI event, which will take place in India in October and November.
The Men in Green are also getting ready for the Asia Cup, which is something to keep in mind. Even though the dates and location of the tournament haven’t been set, it’s likely to happen before the ODI World Cup. Babar Azam and the rest of the team have a lot of games before the big event to get a well-balanced team.
The T20I series will help the PCB put together a new team for the ICC T20 World Cup in 2024. In June and July 2024, the event will take place in the United States and the West Indies.
