Greg Barclay concluded his two-day visit to Pakistan for the first time as chairman of the International Cricket Council (ICC). The ICC officials visited the Pakistan Cricket Organization’s headquarters in Lahore on Tuesday and Wednesday. Najam Sethi, chair of the Pakistan Cricket Board‘s (PCB) Management Committee, and other PCB representatives were present during Barclay and Allardice’s conversation. They addressed a variety of administrative concerns relating to cricket.
Barclay praised Pakistan’s cricket facilities and responsibilities, stating that with the return of international competition and the PCB’s outstanding implementation of bilateral agreements, Pakistan cricket is eager to ascend to greater heights. He was also pleased with the PCB’s position within the ICC‘s global expansion strategy.

“The cricket facilities in Pakistan and the cricket programs are great, and now that international cricket has returned to Pakistan and the PCB is able to successfully deliver bilateral arrangements at home, I think we’ll see Pakistan cricket reach another level for both men and women, which will also have a positive impact in terms of commercial upside,” Barclay was quoted as saying by the Arab News.
Given that the ICC has a strategy to expand the game globally, it is also gratifying to see where the PCB comes in. I’m going to be very impressed with what I’ve observed here,” Greg Barclay added.
However, the ICC did not consider Pakistan’s participation in the World Cup. Dates and venues for the October-November World Cup will be announced on June 7 in London at the conclusion of the World Test Championship (WTC).
Najam Sethi, the chair of the PCB Management Committee and an ICC Director, expressed appreciation for Greg Barclay and Geoff Allardice’s visit. He emphasized the importance of exchanging perspectives and ideas on the global cricket ecosystem and the PCB’s dedication to working closely with the ICC to develop international strategies and plans that benefit all ICC members and attract new audiences.
