Three members of the Afghanistan national squad had their national contracts delayed by the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB), which made a significant judgment and imposed disciplinary action. Three players in particular have had their contracts delayed and their No Objection Certificates (NOCs) withheld for the next two years: Mujeeb Ur Rahman, Fazal Haq Farooqi, and Naveen Ul Haq Mureed.
Following the three players’ declaration that they wanted to focus on franchise cricket and be liberated from their central contracts, the board made a significant decision. Players who choose franchised leagues above their national team, according to the ACB, are betraying their national obligation. To further address the matter, the ACB launched a thorough inquiry.
Using January 1, 2024, as their date of release from the annual central contract, the three players officially informed the ACB of their decision. They also asked that their permission to participate in national events be taken into consideration. A committee member reported this information.
