The Delhi Premier League’s (DPL 2024) first season has already included some innovative cricket, and as the competition goes on, the action will only get more fierce. Fast bowlers need to be disciplined and physically fit, according to Navdeep Saini, who is now representing the West Delhi Lions in the franchise league.
The 31-year-old, who played in two Tests, eight ODIs, and eleven T20Is, made waves in the cricket world with his ability to reach speeds of over 145 kph. He did, however, manage to get misplaced and has not been a part of the Indian setup since July 2021. But Saini is intent on winning the DPL, and following the Lions’ victory in their opening match, the right-arm pacer has shifted his attention to Wednesday, August 21,’s match against Purani Dilli 6 at the storied Shri Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi.
“Everything went exactly as planned in our first game, which went incredibly well. It was the first time we had all played together, and we did a great job of supporting one another during the game. Winning your first game together as a team definitely helps you move forward,” Saini said to the West Delhi Lions.
“We did a great job of preparing for today’s match. Our approach has remained the same; we followed the same plan for today’s game as we did for the first one. We’ve been practicing quite well,” he continued.
