Chris Jordan, a pacer for England, has committed to play the rest of the Caribbean Premier League 2024 with Trinbago Knight Riders. In five games as a member of the TKR team in 2019, the 35-year-old claimed seven wickets at an economy rate of 9.05. He took over for USA fast bowler Ali Khan in 2024 when the latter was injured and could not play in the CPL.
With three victories in their last four games, TKR is presently ranked fourth in the standings. Jordan’s inclusion will instill confidence in them ahead of their home leg, which starts on September 19, and add experience to their bowling unit. He played seven Twenty20 Internationals for England in 2024, taking 12 wickets at an economy rate of 9.07. Against the USA earlier in the year, he also scored three goals.
Ten days are allotted for Imran Tahir
Imran Tahir, the captain of the Guyana Amazon Warriors, will miss the next ten days of play. Shai Hope filled in for the spinner during their most recent matchup with the Barbados Royals. Notably, the 45-year-old has been successful for the team because the Warriors won the 2023 title while he was leading them. In three games so far this year, he has taken six wickets at an economy rate of 9.63.
For the upcoming games, Tahir will be replaced by Nathan Sowter, who has been called up. Romario Shepherd, an all-round player, is also recovering from a toe injury in the meantime. He was essential to the Warriors’ victory the previous season. In the CPL 2024, he has only appeared in one game, which was against the Antigua and Barbuda Falcons. In that game, he amassed 32 runs off of 16 deliveries while conceding just 13 runs in his three overs, aiding his team to victory by three wickets.
