Another injury setback for Pakistan came on Tuesday, when fast bowler Naseem Shah was ruled out of the country’s third and final test match against England, which will take place in Karachi this week.
Naseem Shah, who is only 19 years old, has not yet fully healed from a shoulder injury that forced him to miss the second test match in Multan, which England won by a score of 26 runs on Monday.
According to a press release issued by the Pakistan Cricket Board, Naseem Shah will not be participating in the third and final test match in Karachi because he is suffering from “a niggle in the bowling shoulder.” On Saturday, the third and final test will get underway.
According to the report, Naseem would first take part in additional evaluations at the National High Performance Centre in Lahore before beginning his rehabilitation.
After suffering a defeat in the first test match played in Rawalpindi by 74 runs, Pakistan is now facing the prospect of suffering their first ever 3-0 defeat at home in a Test series.
The team has been dealt a blow due to injuries sustained by its fast bowlers, with the team’s spearhead Shaheen Shah Afridi being ruled out of the series with a knee injury before it even began.
Due to a quadriceps injury that he sustained during the first match, Haris Rauf was unable to participate in either of the most recent tests.
This is England’s first trip of Pakistan to include a test match since 2005.
