Yashasvi Jaiswal, Tilak Varma, and numerous more newcomers to the Indian team’s roster recently made an impression on the world of international cricket. One such person was Mukesh Kumar, a 29-year-old. The bowler gained notoriety as a result of his efforts in Indian Premier League (IPL) season 16 and domestic cricket. Additionally, he recently played for India in a multi-format series against the West Indies.
After making his debut, Mukesh came up to say that great pacer Jasprit Bumrah’s instruction was extremely helpful and beneficial to him. The 29-year-old knows exactly what he needs to do to be among the best, despite the fact that he still has a long way to go before being a regular in the Indian team.
“Bumrah bhai explained to me how he approaches bowling, which involves analyzing the game scenario and attempting to read the batsman’s mind. He also instructed me on how to use the slower ball properly. You simply need to keep doing it until you feel you have mastered the art, the teacher said. When India recently played Ireland in a T20I series, Mukesh informed The Telegraph that is what he had told him.
The slower one didn’t inspire much confidence in me: Mukesh Kumar
In addition, Mukesh expressed his opinion that the slower ball was difficult to master and that he did not have much faith in it given the rise of power hitters in international cricket. The pacer asserted, however, that after speaking with Bumrah, he realized the significance of the delivery.
“In limited-overs cricket, I didn’t have a lot of faith in the slower one. Today’s baseball players have a lot of power, so if you don’t handle the slower ball well, they’ll keep putting it away. But depending on the circumstances of the match, and after speaking to asprit Bumrah bhai, I’ll try to raise the ratio of the slower balls,” Mukesh remarked.
