The Indian team at the ODI World Cup 2023 has displayed exceptional form. The team, captained by Rohit Sharma, is unbeaten so far in the renowned competition. Most of the credit for their outstanding performance may be attributed to the side’s up to this point precise lineups and rotations.
The veteran all-rounder Ravichandran Ashwin wasn’t even in the running to be selected for the World Cup team until Axar Patel got hurt. Even in India’s opening match against Australia, the 37-year-old player made an appearance. He has not yet played again, though, since India substituted Shardul Thakur for him in their most recent two matches.
Former Indian selectors chairman MSK Prasad spoke about the frequent rotations and cited the case of Mohammed Shami and Ashwin as two players who, despite being significant stars for the team, are not guaranteed choices. He also praised the team for fielding outstanding lineups that were appropriate for the circumstances.
“The team management is acting exactly correctly. Playing Ashwin is a wise move if the wickets are favorable for spinners; however, if they are flat, someone like Shardul gives something with both and the ball becomes an option. As far as Shami is concerned, I believe he will only play when the team management decides Siraj or Bumrah should be rested. They are quite well balanced, according to MSK Prasad, who spoke to the Hindustan Times.

Prasad continued by saying that Ashwin would concur with the rotation choices made by the squad if pressed about them, and that everyone on the team has agreed to the lineup that will be used for the ODI World Cup in 2023.
“Ashwin will concur with the management of the team if you ask him, too. Do we rely on our reputation or do we need to win the championship? If we go by reputation, Shami ought to play instead of Siraj. This squad gets along really well, according to Prasad.
“Everyone has approved of this pairing. As a supporter, it hurts me to see Shami sitting outside, but when I consider the captain’s decisions, they are excellent. They are not traveling based on reputation. They field the greatest XI possible that day against that specific opposition in an effort to win the tournament, he said.
