CSK still has INR 55 crore in their purse.
The Chennai Super Kings have signed the famous cricket player, who was last seen playing in the IPL 2024, as an uncapped player for the 2025 season, paying INR 4 crore. Dhoni was purchased in the uncapped category. This was made possible by a special IPL retention rule that permitted teams to keep Indian players who hadn’t performed at their best level in the previous five years.
For INR 18 crore apiece, the team has also signed important players like Ravindra Jadeja and Ruturaj Gaikwad, while Matheesha Pathirana and Shivam Dube were retained for INR 13 crore and INR 12 crore, respectively. After spending INR 65 crore, the five-time champions will have INR 55 crore left over when they go up for auction. Twenty spots must be filled by the team, including seven from abroad.
The auction, which is scheduled to occur in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, on November 24 and 25, is currently the centre of attention.
