In the current IPL 2024, legendary cricketer MS Dhoni is having trouble with a muscular tear, which has caused him to bat lower in the order. Dhoni coming out to bat at number eight or nine was surprising, even though he was in fantastic form and was scoring boundaries in his limited opportunities. This was especially true considering that the team needed to win its remaining games in order to remain in the running for playoff qualification.
Harbhajan Singh, a former cricket player, has suggested that Dhoni should leave the playing XI and suggested that CSK field a spinner in case Shardul Thakur chooses to bat lower in a crucial situation. The 42-year-old is reportedly battling with a muscle issue, but he has chosen to continue playing because the five-time champions lack a suitable backup.

Our “B” team is the one we are virtually playing with. “Those who are criticizing MS Dhoni are unaware of the sacrifice he is making for this team,” The Times of India cited a CSK insider as saying.
Interestingly, MS Dhoni hasn’t shown signs of discomfort when fielding. It’s unclear when the cricket player sustained the injury because he wasn’t afraid to pick quick singles or doubles in prior games. CSK may choose to sign a goalkeeper in the meantime while Mustafizur Rahman and Matheesha Pathirana are sidelined for the remainder of the season, although that seems improbable right now.
After nine innings of batting, Dhoni has amassed 110 runs with a strike rate of 224.48. As the IPL is gradually coming to a close, he will look to continue his trend of dominating bowlers in the last overs. With 12 points from 11 games played, the Ruturaj Gaikwad-captained team is now third in the standings. Two more wins in the next three games would guarantee their playoff spot. But if they triumph in each of their final three games, CSK will undoubtedly make the playoffs.
