The Kerala Cricket League (KCL) was introduced on Saturday, August 31, by well-known Malayalam actor Mohanlal. The league will take place in Thiruvananthapuram’s Greenfield International Stadium.
The 33 league games, interestingly, will take place between September 2 and September 18. The trophy was unveiled by Sports Minister V Abdurahiman.
Mohanlal also serves as the state league’s brand ambassador.
Other noteworthy attendees included KCL chairman Nazar Machan, KCA secretary Vinod S. Kumar, and president of the Kerala Cricket Association (KCA) Jayesh George.
The following six teams—Calicut Glob stars, Alleppey Ripples, Thrissur Titans, Kochi Blue Tigers, and Trivandrum Royals—will compete for the prized championship. The first game between the Alleppey Ripples and the Thrissur Titans is scheduled for (Monday) September 2, according to On Manorama. Trivandrum Royals and Kochi Blue Tigers will play their second game. On September 16, the league final will take place, and the semifinals the next day.
Samson will miss the inaugural event; fans can enter for free to watch KCL games
As a welcome gift, there will be no admission charge for fans to watch KCL matches live from the stadium. The league’s first season would not be attended by Sanju Samson, the well-known Indian cricket player from Kerala. It was declared that he was the tournament’s icon player.

Had he not chosen to participate in the league, the handsome batter may have played for his hometown Trivandrum Royals. The Royals have designated P A Abdul Basit as their icon player while he is away. For those who don’t know, Basit plays for the Rajasthan Royals in the Indian Premier League, where Samson is the captain.
