The Indian speedster Mohammed Shami responded to reports that he was seeing Sania Mirza, a world-class tennis player, romantically. Sports and entertainment circles have taken notice of the fast bowler’s firm response to these rumours.
After Mirza filed for divorce from Pakistani cricket player Shoaib Malik, fabricated pictures and unfounded rumours about a possible marriage between Shami and Mirza went viral on social media. Despite the absence of reliable sources and formal comments from either side, these rumours gained momentum.
Speaking with Shubhankar Mishra on YouTube, Shami vented his annoyance at the state of affairs, calling it strange and deliberately done for cheap amusement. The pacer questioned those circulating the rumours, and he didn’t hold back.
It’s strange and done on purpose for cheap amusement. However, what steps can be taken? I could see such memes if I opened my phone. All I would like to add is that, while I believe memes are amusing, you should consider sharing something that is relevant to someone’s life before doing so. Shami stated, “These people share content from untrusted pages and get away with saying anything and everything.”
I will respond if you have the courage to state all of these things on a page that has been verified: Mohammed Shami
The right-arm speedster underlined the possible damage that can result from such careless social media activity. Shami told his critics to stop spreading rumours and instead concentrate on their own development and success.
“However, I have one request: I will respond if you have the courage to make all of these statements from a page that has been authenticated. “I’ll think you’re a good person if you try to succeed, help others, and improve yourself,” Shami continued.

The Indian pacer took use of the occasion to provide supporters an update on his ankle injury recuperation, which has kept him out of action since the 2023 ICC World Cup. He disclosed that he has resumed his training and is resolved to make his way back to the Indian cricket squad in time for the team’s next international assignments.
