Tuesday’s final Twenty20 International match between India and New Zealand concluded in a draw using the D/L scoring method. Rain put an end to the chase for the visitors when they were on 75/4 after nine overs with the hosts New Zealand having scored 160 runs in 19.4 overs. The Duckworth-Lewis approach indicated that there was no significant difference in the scores. Mohammad Siraj was India’s most valuable player because he bowled so well and took four wickets while allowing only 17 runs. His performance was the highlight of the match.
Because of his remarkable play, the title of “Player of the Match” was bestowed to him. The Indian spearhead who was on standby during the recently finished Twenty20 World Cup in Australia bowled superbly despite the bad weather conditions. The tournament was conducted in Australia.
“This wicket presented a challenge for batsmen. To bowl the tougher distances was my favoured strategy. I was a reserve in the WC, and I was getting ready to bowl the difficult length when I came here, and I was able to carry out my preparations.
My strategy consisted of bowling the difficult lengths, and I was successful in putting it into action “Mohammad Siraj made this statement during the post-match presentation ceremony.
Arshdeep Singh, who also had a quota of four overs to bowl, ended up taking four wickets while allowing 37 runs.
The excellent performances of these two bowlers combined to prevent New Zealand from reaching a high total on the scoreboard. The untimely rain put a damper on what would have been a nail-biting situation if it hadn’t happened.
“The weather is outside of our control. Every single one of the three matches was present. It feels great to gain a victory “said Siraj. As early wickets were taken by New Zealand bowlers, India remained at 75/4 in their innings. The game did not continue as planned. In the end, India triumphed over Australia by a score of 1-0.
