Shakib Al Hasan is considered one of the most well-known cricket players from Bangladesh, and for good reason—they were among the first in the world to gain international recognition. Sufficient evidence for the above statement comes from his flawless bat and ball record.
Mehidy Hasan Miraz, a 26-year-old all-rounder from Bangladesh, recently discussed Shakib and his roles for the country. Miraz acknowledged that his role for the squad might become more important when he was informed by reporters at Mirpur following one of their practise sessions about the future of Bangladesh cricket after Shakib’s retirement.
“Having an all-around player in the lineup benefits the team. We serve significant responsibilities with bat and ball because we are both playing. All players in the world of cricket eventually have to retire. Every team has a backup plan in place. The Daily Star cited Miraz as saying, “Maybe my responsibility will be of greater importance for the team when Shakib bhai doesn’t play anymore.”
I want to be the best all-around player, so perhaps I can keep doing that for a long time: Mehidy Hasan Miraz
Miraz was hoping to follow in his senior’s footsteps in terms of long-term achievements after having a personally good away series against Pakistan, when he amassed 155 runs in two innings and secured 10 wickets at a strike rate of 37.80.
“The way it’s going on now, if I can continue that for a long time, then hopefully I can become the best all-rounder,” continued Miraz.
