Bengal vs Madhya Pradesh
Bengal’s strong performance against Madhya Pradesh on the first day of the semifinal match in Indore was set up by centuries from Sudip Gharami and Anustup Majumdar, who totalled 307 for 4.
When Bengal decided to bat, Abhimanyu Easwaran and Karan Lal put up a half-century stand before both fell to Gaurav Yadav and Anubhav Agarwal, respectively, in consecutive overs. Although they put on a 241-run partnership for the third wicket before both of them also fell in rapid succession in the final 30 minutes of the day, Majumdar and Gharami made sure the defending champions couldn’t get back into the game.
Bengal was spared any further harm as Manoj Tiwary and Shahbaz Ahmed neutralised the late threat.
Brief scores: Bengal 307/4 against. Madhya Pradesh (Anustup Majumdar 120, Sudip Gharami 112, Anubhav Agarwal 2-21).
