Mayank Agarwal, the captain of Karnataka, has been given approval for his fitness and is now able to resume playing cricket. He will return to participate in the ongoing 2023–24 Ranji Trophy after being absent in the previous round (fifth) owing to a health emergency.
During the flight from Agartala, after winning the game against Tripura by 29 runs, he ingested a beverage. He experienced a sudden episode of vomiting and was subsequently disembarked from the plane and hospitalized at a hospital in Agartala. After being discharged, the 32-year-old returned to Bengaluru and got a medical examination.
The medical staff has assessed Mayank Agarwal’s physical condition and has recommended that he take a little hiatus before participating in a game. He joined the squad on Monday, February 5th, to captain the team in the southern derby against Tamil Nadu at Chepauk, which begins on February 9th. The captain of the Karnataka team informed ESPNcricinfo that he was in good health and there were no significant problems.
