At the Rural Development Trust Stadium in Anantapur, spinner Manav Suthar claimed seven wickets in the second innings of the India C vs. D encounter. The Shreyas Iyer-led team recovered in the second innings as the captain led from the front after a catastrophic first innings at bat. He had a forceful style of cricket, scoring 54 runs from 44 deliveries. He and Devdutt Padikkal pieced up a vital 53-run combination that enabled India D to seize control of the game.
But from then on, everything revolved around Manav Suthar.
The game was turned around by him after he dismissed Padikkal for 56 runs. In the second innings, India D scored 236 runs thanks to the crucial wickets he took of Ricky Bhui, Srikar Bharat, Axar Patel, Saransh Jain, Arshdeep Singh, and Aditya Thakare. The team was about to score more than 280 runs when Suthar’s fury got the better of them.
Several significant batters who appeared to be in good form were removed by him during his seven-for. Given that Padikkal appeared to be in strong form, the wicket was crucial. Following his removal, Bhui assumed command of the game, but Suthar removed him for 44 runs. Conversely, Axar received minimal assistance from the other side once more. This time, Suthar dismissed him early despite his crucial 86-run first-inning knock.
India C, chasing 233 runs, got off to a great start thanks to counterattacking blows from Sai Sudharsan and Ruturaj Gaikwad. Before Saransh overcame him, Captain Gaikwad in particular scored 46 runs off of 48 balls. For 22 runs, he also got rid of Sudharsan. Rajat Patidar and Aryan Juyal now bear the burden of accountability. Baba Indrajith will be in charge of completing the task after this.
