On Tuesday, April 2, at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, the Lucknow Super Giants will play their 15th match of the competition against Royal Challengers Bengaluru, kicking off their IPL (Indian Premier League) 2024 season.
Prior to the match, the LSG support staff is considering whether their usual captain, KL Rahul, will be available for their match against RCB. It is noteworthy that Nicholas Pooran led the team in their most recent match against the Punjab Kings after Rahul was benched.
The decision will be made as a result of LSG exercising caution following KL Rahul’s quadricep injury, which prevented him from playing in the final four Test matches of the five-match series against England earlier this year at home.
It is noteworthy that Rahul refrained from taking wickets while in the nets. Additionally, he practiced full-body exercises under Justin Langer, head coach. Besides that, he batted in the nets and took up padding. Rahul completed a few extra mobility drills after the batting session.
It’s difficult, no matter what, when you have to switch combinations. Pooran
Nicholas Pooran, the team’s acting captain, spoke out and discussed how difficult it can be to switch up the lineup. He believed that the more experienced players banded together to support him in making judgements on the pitch.

“Having to switch up combinations is always difficult. With KL on the pitch, obviously, things are different. However, our veteran players banded together and helped me make certain judgements as well. That is a fact of life. According to a remark from Pooran that ESPNcricinfo carried, “Every senior player steps up sometimes to try and make up for his absence when your captain isn’t available.”
Rahul’s participation in his team’s next match as they prepare to play RCB could be interesting to see. With two points from their first two games, LSG is presently ranked sixth.
