Man of the Match
Natalie Sciver
Commentry
So that is it from this game. England have sealed their place in the semi final. West Indies are out of the race for the semi final spot. It will be double header on Monday, 2nd March as well. First Sri Lanka take on Bangladesh first. That match will begin at 1100 local (0000 GMT). Join us for that one. Till then, cheers!
England skipper, Heather Knight says that they spoke about running really well and did that as the pitch was on the slower side. Tells they needed to be clever with both the bat and ball. On the batting changes, she says they wanted to change somethings and credits Tammy to show. Says Mady is a great kid and she is happy for her performance. Tells they were getting nervous looking at Pakistan and just wanted to win.
West Indies vice-captain, Anisa Mohammed says that they will need to go through the scans before making any comment on how serious Stafanie's injury is. Tells injury is something they can't control and they were unlucky tonight. Tells they were good on the field. Admits England got away in the death overs. Tells they need to work on their batting and they are disappointed not to qualify for the semi-final.
For her brilliant batting display, Natalie Sciver has been named the Player of the Match. Sciver says that it is coming off the bat nicely and it was a bit of a different innings today as the wicket was on the slower side. Says they knew if they batted well they could win this. Tells there was a game here before this and they knew they had to bat smart and well.
Earlier in the evening, after opting to bat. England put up a very good total of 143 on a slow wicket courtesy of 57 from Natalie Sciver along with starts from Danielle Wyatt and Heather Knight. Cameos from Amy Jones and Katherine Brunt also helped them go past 140. It was a decent bowling effort from West Indies as four bowlers picked up one wicket each.
A very professional performance with the ball from England. They bowled according to the plan and bowled on the surface which was a tricky one to bat. Sophie Ecclestone was the star with the ball as she ended up with 3-wickets. Mady Villiers and Anya Shrubsole had one wicket each. Overall it was a professional bowling display from them.
Chasing 144, West Indies' reply never got going. They kept lost Deandra Dottin and while Hayley Matthews was struggling at one end, Stafanie Taylor was settling in. But the injury to skipper dented the confidence of the side and after her departure the Carribean side just threw in the towel. There was a late cameo from Lee-Ann Kirby but it was too little, too late.
A sorry performance with the bat from West Indies and their hopes of qualifying for the semi-finals also comes to an end. Supreme performance from England has sealed their spot in the final four stages of the tournament.

We are back for West Indies' reply. England players are ready with the ball on the field. Out come the two West Indies openers Hayley Matthews and Deandra Dottin come out to start their innings. Anya Shrubsole to start with the ball.
So 144 is the target for West Indies to stay alive in this competition. England will fancy themselves and the onus will be on their bowlers to do the job now. But do not count out the side from Caribbean. Can West Indies chase it down or will England enter into the semi-finals? Join us in a while for West Indies' reply.
Shakera Selman is caught down for a quick chat with Mel Jones. Selman says that it was important getting the English captain out as she was playting well. Tells they were poor against Pakistan and their fielding coach gave them a tough taliking and she feels they were good tonight. Selman is confident that they can get the job done.
It was a good performance with the ball from West Indies before the death overs. They kept it tight and hardly let any freebies. Shakera Selman, Afy Fletcher, Anisa Mohammed and Stafanie Taylor all bagged one wicket apiece. The skipper though was expensive. Special mention to their fielding as they were live-wire and much better than the game against Pakistan.
After opting to bat, England once again lost an opener early. Tammy Beaumont, who was promoted up the order failed to deliver. Danielle Wyatt though found her mojo back. She steadied the ship with the in-form Natalie Sciver. The duo added 50 runs together before Wyatt departed. Skipper Heather Knight then continued from there. Natalie Sciver though was the star of the show as her 57 was the base on which England batted. Cameos from Amy Jones and Katherine Brunt towards the end took the total past 140.
36 runs from the final 3 overs and that excellent finish has seen England go past the 140-run mark on a slow wicket in which batting is not that easy. West Indies players walk out with a defected body language as they know that it is not going to be an easy chase.

OUT! Run Out! Another excellent effort from West Indies in the field. Shakera Selman's superb direct hit has ended another budding stand. Tossed up down the leg side, Knight weeps it towards mid-wicket. Sciver calls for a quick single and Knight is a bitcasual in her approach. Shakera Selman runs to the ball from mid on and quickly gets to it. She turns and scores an outstanding direct hit at the bowler's end. The English skipper looks to be short of her crease. The umpire takes it upstairs and the replays find Knight wanting. She has to depart and the 39-run stand is broken. This wicket is a testament to West Indies' superb fielding tonight.

Both sets of players walk out for their respective national anthems. First up it will be West Indies' followed by England's. We are not far away from the action to begin.

TOSS - We are all in readiness and up goes the coin and it comes down in favor of England skipper, Heather Knight. ENGLAND OPT TO BAT!
Hello and welcome to the second game of double-header Sunday of this exciting Womens T20 World Cup. England bounced back after losing their first game with back-to-back wins against Thailand and Pakistan. It is a simple equation for the English side, win this game and enter the semi-finals. West Indies, on the other hand, will look to bounce back from their loss against Pakistan. This is a must win competition for the Carribean side as a loss here will see them bow out of the competition. If they manage to do so, then it will open Group B wide open. Can West Indies spring a surprise against England or will the English side bulldoze into the semi-final?
