That is the coverage from this game! The action in The Hundred continues as Welsh Fire Men will battle out against Trent Rockets Men at Cardiff at 1900 local (1800 GMT). Do join us for that. Till then, ADIOS AND TAKE CARE!
Natalie Sciver, Hero of the match, says she is very happy with the overall team performance. Says that their bowling has been good right throughout the tournament and everyone bowled really well. She feels it is difficult for an overseas player to come here and perform and is happy for all the overseas players. Adds that the first few games were hard. Mentions that they would like to be more clinical and will look to make it through to the playoffs.
Excellent performance from Trent Rockets Women! They started the innings in a nervy manner as Rachel Priest departed early and then Sammy Jo Johnson followed her too. At the end of the Powerplay, TRW were 24/2. Natalie Sciver then kept the scoreboard ticking while Katherine Brunt took some time to settle in. After that, Sciver started to counter-attack and player her strokes all over the ground. Brunt supported her well and kept motoring along. Both of them stitched a fifty-run partnership. Sciver also brought her fifty in the process. After Brunt got out, wickets kept tumbling and the batters made it more difficult than it was necessary but in the end, got the job done as they won by 4 wickets.
The fire was ignited too late! Welsh Fire Women started the innings on a positive note as Bryony Smith scalped a wicket in the first set of 5 balls. Hayley Matthews then got the wicket of Johnson and TRT-W were put to backfoot right away. But after that the bowlers couldn't manage to capitalize on the pressure they created. Sciver was too good for them as she took the game away single-handedly. The bowlers did manage to scare the opposition by taking wickets towards the end but it was rather too late for that. In the end, Welsh Fire Women lost the game by 4 wickets.
