Man of the Match
Adam Zampa

ADAM ZAMPA HAS BEEN NAMED THE PLAYER OF THE MATCH. That is all we have from this game. Hop in to the other match where the Scorchers are playing the Renegades.
The Stars will be happy with their display. They finished poorly with the bat but their bowling made up for it. Nearly everyone bowled well, covering up for Dilbar Hussain, who had to leave the field after bowling just 11 balls. Adam Zampa was the best bowler on show but the scorecard will tell that Liam Hatcher was the best because he took a 3-fer.
The Thunder seemed to have got this chase well planned but they got choked post the Powerplay. They simply could not attack Adam Zampa and his spell of 4-0-10-2 proved to be too much. Even if they had jut milked him around, got 25 off his 4, they might have won! Other than Hales and Ferguson, no one could really step up to the plate.
Easy win in the end for the Stars. Pretty surprising, given that many felt that they were 20 runs below par. But this pitch was probably not the easiest to bat on once the ball got old and two decisions from Maxwell - batting first and going hard with the bat in the Powerplay reaped rich dividends.

OUT! CAUGHT AGAIN. Two in two for Zampa. Full and outside off, Holt looks to play the slog sweep but only gets a top edge. Simple catch for Liam Hatcher at short third man.

Full and around off, Holt looks to play the reverse sweep but misses and is hit on the pads. No interest given to the LBW appeal.

Super fielding from Maxwell. Full and outside off, McAndrew swings hard but mistimes it to wide long on. Maxi gets across, leaps, parries the ball back and it just eludes deep mid-wicket. Just the couple.

NO BALL. A high full toss, a slower one, helped to deep square leg for a boundary. Free Hit coming.

A slower ball, outside off, a mighty swing and a miss.

OUT! CAUGHT! Second wicket for Cartwright in the over. Full toss, outside off, Green looks to go big over long off, but can only find the substitute Tom O'Connell at the ropes.

Full and outside off, drilled wide of long off for a couple.
Nathan McAndrew walks out for the final rites.

OUT! CAUGHT! Ross departs and one will believe that is the final nail in the coffin. A slower ball, outside off, Ross looks to slog but he get nothing on this. Or, nothing much. Mistimes it to deep mid-wicket where Clint Hinchliffe completes the formalities.

Full and outside off, Green looks to slog but gets a massive top edge. It lands exactly in between long on and long off. A single taken.
