Earlier in the game, after being asked to bat first after a long rain delay, Salem huffed and puffed to 115 runs in 16 overs as their innings was cut short due to rain. Kaushik Gandhi continued his fine form by scoring a good fifty and Maan Bafna played a quick cameo of 19 runs off just 8 balls. S Lakshay Jain was the best bowler for Nellai with his two wickets while NS Harish got one. The revised target was 129 runs in 16 overs. It was a hot and cold chase from Nellai as they kept losing wickets but also remained within the required rate. However, in the end, they got over the line and get back to winning ways.
Nellai got off to a shaky start as they lost their skipper Arun Karthik for a duck and Sri Neranjan R too went without troubling the scorers much in the Powerplay. After that, Rithik Easwaran and Ajitesh G started to rebuild well and they were looking good to chase down this total but unfortunately for them, both of them lost their wickets in quick succession which did not help their cause. However, Laxmesha Suryaprakash smashed 33 runs off 14 balls and helped Nellai to another victory.
What a win for Nellai! They looked down and out in the last few overs but Laxmesha Suryaprakash came out of nowhere and took his team home with a smashing knock and with two balls to spare as well.
