Man of the Match
Lizelle Lee
Commentry
So that is it from this game! One more World Cup game to go though as Pakistan take on England. Join us for the action from that game. Till then, take care and goodbye!
South Africa skipper, Dane Van Niekerk starts by crediting Lee for how she played but the fielding let them down, they always try to give their best but today they did not play their best game. States they dropped a few chances today which is not good and they need to improve.
Thailand skipper, Sonnarin Tippoch starts by saying credit to Lee as she hit the ball really hard, they did not get it right and they need to improve. Further adds it was a big score on the board, they went out there and backed themselves but fell well short.
PLAYER OF THE MATCH, Lizelle Lee, says that it is just one of the days for her. She further adds she did not do that well at the start of the tournament but she is happy to do well here. On her partnership with Sune Luus she says that the partnership with Luus was superb. Further goes onto add that they are taking each and every game as a semi final.
The South African bowling was good! Ismail and Luus were the pick as both finished with a three-fers. Except for Khaka, every bowler took a wicket at least.
Once again Thailand have been beaten quite easily! Just what South Africa would have wanted as this would boost their NRR! To be honest after Lee's ton which took South Africa close to 200, it was always going to a huge task for Thailand. Also, to make matters worse, they lost a lot of wickets at the start and then kept on losing wickets throughout. Kamchomphu did play an attractive innings which was the only positive for Thailand.

OUT! The game ends with the first ball of the 20th over. Shabnim Ismail finishes it off in style here. She comes charging in and bowls one on a length and around middle and leg. Padunglerd goes for the wild swing but misses it to see her leg pole lay flat on the ground. SOUTH AFRICA WIN BY 113 RUNS!

NOT OUT! The batter is just in! Outside off, it is hit towards cover. The batswomen go for a run. The fielder picks the ball up and fires it to the keeper who whips the bails off and appeals. The umpire takes it upstairs. The batter though has started walking back. She now turns and starts walking back towards the pitch. Replays show that she is just in. Maybe she would have thought that the 20 overs have been done.

NOT OUT! The batter has her foot just in! This is tossed up outside off. Laomi looks to go big but is beaten by the away turn. The keeper collects the ball and whips the bails. An appeal and the umpire takes it upstairs. Time for the replays which shows Laomi did drag her foot out but she got it back in time.

OUT! LBW! Three reds! Did not see that coming. Trisha Chetty is once again in the scheme of things as she is the one who convinces her skipper to take the review. It is tossed up on middle and leg, Sutthiruang goes for slog by moving across her stumps. She misses it and gets rapped on the pads. There is an appeal but the umpire shakes her head. The South African go for the review. Replays roll in and Snicko confirms no bat involved. Now comes the Hawk Eye. Pitching in line, Impact in line and what we see is hitting too in line as the ball clips the leg stump on the outside. Did not look like hitting the stumps to the naked eye.
An appeal for LBW has been turned down! South Africa review. Looks to be going down with the angle.

DROPPED! A chance goes abegging. Flatter and on middle, Chantam pulls it over mid-wicket where Shabnam Ismail drops an easy chance to concede a single. Thailand off the mark here.
We are back for the chase. The two Thailand openers Nattakan Chantam and Nattaya Boochatham will open the batting for Thailand. South African players are also out too. Nonkululeko Mlaba with the ball for South Africa.
The target is a massive one! Once again one feels it is out of the reach of Thailand and they would probably look to bat out the 20 overs. South Africa on the other hand, will want to restrict them to as low as possible which will help them improve their net run-rate.
The Thailand bowlers had a day to forget! They used 7 bowlers but none could bowl well. Every bowler went for plenty of runs. Kamchomphu though was the most economical bowler but overall, it is a performance they would like to forget.
End of a power-packed batting display from the South Africans. They though got off to the worst starts possible as they lost a wicket early. However, it was all about Lee then. She smashed the bowlers to all parts of the park. Luus played as second fiddle and the two added a 130-plus run stand. Lee went onto to score a brilliant ton with Luus staying unbeaten on 61. Tryon too enjoyed herself with the bat and her cameo helped take her team's total close to 200.
