Right then. That is all that we have from this game. Quetta have finally opened their account in this season's PSL and will look to build on this, whereas Multan will look to bounce back in their next game, after this loss. The Gladiators skipper, Sarfaraz Ahmed says that they will gain a lot of confidence after this win. Adds that they thought of playing 5 bowlers and it worked. Goes onto say that they played three spinners and they will keep looking at different combinations. Goes onto say that Usman played really well while Qais bowled well too. Tells that Hasnain was superb. Adds that their fielding was good. Mentions that they tried different things and the youngsters did a very good job.
Player of the Match, Qais Ahmad says that the captain gave a plan and he followed that. Adds that he bowled simple line and length. Says that he was trying to bowl slow and he was not looking to bowl the googly much.
The Sultans skipper, Mohammad Rizwan says that they had a tough time in batting and he feels that they gave a few extra runs in the death. Adds that their fielding was poor and they need to improve on that. Tells that cricket is a pressure game and they had a talk in the dressing room to build partnerships. Adds that Quetta's spinners bowled really well in the middle overs. Says that he is in a lot of pain and he is going to have an x-ray done.
Mohammad Hasnain is in for a quick chat! He says that he is very happy with the performance. Adds that he is feeling really good and is in a good rhythm. States that he enjoys playing with Steyn and he is learning a lot from him and he keeps asking him for tips.
Earlier in the day, due to the exploits by Usman Khan and also some small cameos from Nawaz, Azam, and also Ayub, the Gladiators were able to post a total of 176. They could have crossed the 200-run mark but they lost their way in the middle after Usman fell. The bowling by the Sultans was average, to begin with, and became better in the middle overs. Dhani was the pick of the lot as he snared 3 wickets. In the end, a very good overall show by Quetta has seen them win this game.
The bowling and fielding by Quetta were very good. They have not been at their best in both these departments in this season but this game was a refreshing change. They were very good out on the field and took the important catches that came their way. Their star with the ball was definitely Qais Ahmad as he picked up 3 wickets and conceded just 21 runs. Zahid and Hasnain were slightly expensive but they both had two wickets to their name, whereas Steyn and Nawaz had one wicket each. Overall, a very good show for Quetta.
A win finally for the Gladiators. It has taken them five attempts but they have finally crossed the hurdle and have registered their first win of the campaign, as they have defeated the Sultans by 22 runs. Sarfaraz will be a happy skipper after this performance. Multan got off to a really good start as Rizwan and Vince set the platform. They added 63 for the first wicket before Vince fell. It was then that their batting faltered. From 63/1, they went to 90/4. They still had Rizwan out in the middle but no one supported him from the other end and there was too much for Rizwan to do in the end as he too lost his wicket looking for the big shots and that was the game right there for the Gladiators.
