Man of the Match
Laura Harris
Commentry
For her outstanding innings, Laura Harris is named the Player of the Match! So that is it from this game! The defending champions look on course to reach yet another semi-final with this win. Perth Scorchers Women have lost back-to-back games but are still in the top 4. The action from the WBBL is not over yet as we have two games coming up at 1430 local (0330 GMT) as Melbourne Stars Women take on Hobart Hurricanes Women while Adelaide Strikers Women will go head-to-head against Melbourne Renegades Women. Join us for that games. Till then, cheers!
Just like their batting. Perth Scorchers Women's bowling was also a tale of two halves. They started off well but they let Redmayne and Green steady the ship and then had no answer for Harris' magic. Sarah Glenn though was the standout performer with the ball for the Scorchers finishing with 4/31. Taneale Peschel and Heather Graham got one wicket apiece but that was not enough for Perth Scorchers Women.
Chasing 138, Heat got off to the worst possible start losing 3 wickets inside the first 2 overs. It looked like the game was done there but Georgia Redmayne and Maddy Green stabilised the ship with their 66-run stand. Laura Harris then came out with intent and her blistering unbeaten 40 off just 17 balls took Heat over the line.
What a brilliant chase from Brisbane Heat Women. They have done the double over Perth Scorchers Women and have created a breathing space between themselves and the rest of the chasing pack.
