So, that is that from Super Saturday. What an action-packed day of WBBL cricket it was. And yes, Super Saturday is always followed by a Super Sunday. The latter though is the last one for this season, coming on 22nd November 2020. The quadruple action continues then, starting with Sydney Thunder Women taking on Hobart Hurricanes Women in the first game. The action begins at 0930 Local (2230 GMT). We hope to have your company then. Until then, take care and good bye.
Lizelle Lee is named the Player of the Match. She says that credit needs to be given to the bowlers as they bowled well to restrict the Sixers to 166. Adds that she is happy with her performance. Mentions it was a great victory for them.
Earlier, after winning the toss, Renegades opted to bowl first. They just could not stop the opening pair of Perry and Healy who were going berserk. They did manage to net them in quick succession later but Kapp and Van Niekerk steered them to what looked a good total of 166/4. But then, given Lee's batting exploits and Webb's more than handy cameo, it just was not at all enough, as Renegades coasted home safely in the end. What a match it was!
Sydney Sixers Women started off well with the ball but could not net Lizelle Lee. Nor could they contain her. And the game was slowly slipping away from their hands. Kapp bowled well, conceding just 25 runs in her 4 overs and took a wicket. Niekerk was very expensive. Aley was decent, conceding 31 runs in her 4 overs but bagged a couple of wickets. Nothing much from the others, including skipper Perry. They just could not build a momentum in their favour after getting the wicket of Lizelle Lee. And that cost them this game and probably, probably, a berth in the semis. But let's wait and see what happens to Perry's women further.
Melbourne Renegades had an early setback in the chase, losing Sophie Molineux for just 4. After that, Dooley followed shortly. But Lizelle Lee was still there and was going very strongly. The skipper, Amy Satterthwaite, went just as a partnership was being stitched. But that did not deter Lee. She middled the balls well along with Webb. Eventually, Lee departed after making 79 from 45 balls. A window for Sixers. But not for long as Courtney Webb and Carly Leeson saw the Renegades home safely in the end.
Melbourne Renegades notch back-to-back wins and make qualification tougher for Sydney Sixers. The latter still can potentially make it but have a tough road ahead. This win for Renegades means Brisbane qualify, being in No 2 in the points table. But what a performance from Melbourne here.

One more single! Tossed up and outside off, Leeson moves just to the off side and slams it down to deep mid-wicket for one. Times it well but finds the fielder in the deep.
