That's all from this game! Sydney Thunder put in a terrific performance to win their second game in a row. Melbourne Renegades will be disappointed with theri performance. We have a double header coming up on Friday, the 20th of December. First up is Hobart Hurricanes facing Sydney Sixers at 1315 Local (0345 GMT) followed by Brisbane Heat going up against Melbourne Stars. Until then, cheers.

ALEX HALES GETS PLAYER OF THE MATCH. He starts by saying that it's been a good start for the Thunder. Tells that the spinners did a brilliant job for them in the first innings. Mentions that Chris Morris will join the squad soon. Tells that he has been looking forward to coming matches.

Melbourne Renegades did not bowl well at all in the start. They were taken apart by Khawaja and Hales but the late wicket of Alex Hales triggered a collapse of some sort. They made a comeback in the last few overs bowling economically and picking up few wickets but in the end it was too late. But have to give credit to the fight shown by the Renegades.

A terrific chase from Thunder sees them get their second win on the trot. Even though, they lost a few wickets in the end but by that time the game was in their hands. They would have been very disappointed if they had not finished the game when they needed just 24 runs from the last four overs. Usman Khawaja and Alex Hales started brilliantly. Both got to their respective fifties and then Khawaja holed out. Hales though continued on his merry way and got them closer to the target. His wicket triggered a bit of a collapse. Gilkes run out in the final over put some nerves inside the dugout but Ross finished things off in style.

The Thunder bowling was not upto the mark at the start. They were giving away quite a few runs but then after the first 10 overs, they used their slower balls to perfection and did not let the batting get quick runs. Nair in their middle overs picked up two valuable wickets and stemmed the run-flow. Others around him bowled economically as well apart from Tremain and Cook. Can they chase this down? Brilliant death over bowling from the Thunders have helped reduce the score by some margin. The Melbourne Renegades started off with a bang as Sam Harper was hitting the ball to all parts of the ground. Shaun Marsh then continued the good work with Aaron Finch. They were 89/2 at the end of 10 overs and were looking set for a big score but some good bowling in the death have reduced them to 169.

The 9th edition of the Big bash league needs some injection of excitement and there is a hope that the two teams playing will provide just that. Melbourne Renegades, the defending champions will hope that they kick start the tournament with a win. They have a good leader in Aaron and with the inclusion of Shaun Marsh, they have a strong batting line-up. Kane Richardson and Harry Gurney will lead the bowling duties. Sydney Thunder, courtesy Callum Ferguson started the league with a win against Brisbane Heat but they need to bat better at the top and cannot depend on the middle order to get them out of trouble every time. The visitors would hope that they continue their winning momentum. Will the Renegades start with a win or will the Thunder get their second win in a row? Toss and team updates in a while.
