Tough luck for Kane Richardson. His 4-fer came at a very low price, for just 22 runs. But Fawad's 2/22 got his team home. MITCHELL MARSH HAS BEEN NAMED THE MAN OF THE MATCH for his outstanding cameo.
Who bowled better? Well, the Renegades faltered only in those last 3 overs, which is where they probably lost the game. The Scorchers bowled well, though they did lose it a bit during the Shaun Marsh-Beau Webster stand. But the gamble from Mitchell Marsh to give Fawad Ahmed the 18th over worked big time and the Men In Orange got home.
The match began as an advertisement for the blockbuster titled 'The Marsh Family.' Brother vs Brother. And boy, they did not disappoint. The younger one smashed an unbeaten 56 from 22 to catapult his team's score close to 200 in the first innings while the elder one nearly got his team home in the second. Contributions from Beau Webster cannot be undermined. In a stand of 92 with SOS, he played a very good supporting role, eventually ending with 67 unbeaten from 37 balls.
A hard-fought game. And Mitchell Marsh and his team will know that. In the end, it turned out that his cameo with the bat has actually won them the game. What was the difference? Just 11 runs. The Scorchers get themselves on the board.

Hello ladies and gentlemen! The first match of the double-header Saturday is marred by bad air quality and is stopped at the moment while the clock has already ticked for the second match. The Perth Stadium is ready to host its first match of the season as the hosts, Perth Scorchers clash with Melbourne Renegades. Both teams faced hefty defeats in their opening encounters and would like to score their first win before losing becomes a habit for them. The Renegades have a very attractive and experienced batting department and it's for their bowlers to get more clinical in their efforts. For the Scorchers, the batting line-up has a few big names but the rest needs to step up and shoulder the responsibility. They possess a more settled bowling unit and it's going to be a mouthwatering contest between bat and ball. Stay tuned for more updates...
