That's it from this game! BBL 10 has started off in some fashion. Hobart will be happy that they have started their campaign off with a win. Sixers, on the other hand, will be disappointed that they have not started the defense of their title with a victory and they will want to come back stronger in their next encounter. The action continues in the BBL on Friday, 11th December 2020 as Melbourne Stars lock horns against Brisbane Heat. The action begins at 1915 local (0815 GMT). We hope to have your company for that game. Until then, cheers and take care.
Tim David is the PLAYER OF THE MATCH! Starts by saying that he feels happy. Feels that it was not an ideal start for them but they did a good job. States that they batted well enough in the end and that their bowling did extremely well to get them through. Adds that there are a lot of new boys and that they have bonded well as a group.
The Hobart bowling was good to begin with and was excellent in the death! It was in the middle overs where they struggled but bowled well when it mattered. Faulkner and Meredith were probably the pick of the lot. Ellis was very good too but mostly towards the end. Boland bowled well in parts. Overall though, they have done enough to win the game.
They needed less than 10 per over heading into the 14th with 9 wickets in hand. However, the fall of Vince just changed the game. Edwards then followed and all of a sudden, run scoring became really tough. Hughes and Silk found it difficult to hit boundaries and due to that, the run rate just kept going up. In the end, it became an uphill task for Christian and Brathwaite who came in after those two fell and Sydney have probably lost a game which they felt they should have won.
End of a brilliant victory for Hobart! Just like the first innings, they were behind the 8-ball for most parts of the innings. Especially when Vince and Edwards were batting. After they lost an early wicket, the two ammased a brilliant stand. The two added over 100 and Sydney were cruising at that time.

A single to end and that will be that! Very full and on off, Ben clubs this down towards long on for just a single. HOBART HURRICANES WIN THE GAME BY 16 RUNS!

FOUR! A little too late now for the Sixers! They need a lot more and a solitary boundary will not help them right now! Very full and outside off, Ben drives this past the bowler and into the fence down the ground.

Another single now! A full ball on middle, Brathwaite hammers this to the on side and picks up a run.

OUT! CAUGHT! Christian is a goner and now a new batter will come out! A very simple catch and Hobart are on top at the moment! A yorker on middle, Christian makes room and looks to dig it out but can only chip this one straight to the fielder at covers, Tim David who takes this easy catch. 24 needed in 4 now.
