Presentations coming up...
Earlier in the match, after being asked to bat first, Bangalore struggled early on as they managed to score just 68 in the first 12 overs but the finishing touch from Perry and Richa helped the team to get to a fighting total of 150 by the end of 20 overs. For Delhi, Shikha Pandey had an amazing time as she scalped 3 wickets and grabbed a stunner too to get rid of Heather Knight.
Bangalore's side will be slightly upset with how things ended for them. They certainly did well but lost out on the crucial moments of the match. Had they got some extra runs on the board, things could have been a bit different. Also, their bowling, after a decent start initially failed to build any sort of momentum. Asha Shobana picked up two wickets and she was the pick of the bowlers for Bangalore's side but in totality, they were once again below-par on the field.
A close win for Delhi and with the middle-order scripting this victory, they will be even more pleased. Bangalore now lose their fifth game on the trot. They certainly did well but lost out on the crucial moments of the match. At the start of the chase, Delhi suffered an early blow in the form of Shafali Verma but Alice Capsey counter-attacked and scored at a brisk pace before getting out on 38 in the Powerplay itself. The middle phase of the run chase was controlled by Jemimah Rodrigues and Marizanne Kapp. Jess Jonassen came in after the dismissal of Jemimah and landed the final few punches with her cameo of 29 runs in 15 deliveries.
