States that they batted really well in the first 10 overs and even the bowling was good before Reardon came and started attacking. Adds that they started practicing a month ago for this tournament. The Australian Legend skipper, Brad Hadddin says that they did not play well. Further, praises the Sri Lankan Legends for keeping their nerves in the end and winning it. On Nathan Reardon, Haddin says that he just hit a brilliant century in grade cricket back home. Ends by saying that Brett Lee will join them from the next game and they hope to produce a better show with both bat and ball.
The Sri Lankan bowling was spot on. Chaminda Vaas started the procession in the first over by scalping Michael Klinger for nought. Dilshan lead from the front as he ended with a 3-wicket haul. Herath, Maharoof, Muralitharan and Senanayake all supported their skipper well in the middle. They were spot on with their fielding too as they held on to the catches and fielded well to build and keep the pressure on the Australian Legends and come out on top in the end. Chasing 162 for victory, Australia had the worst possible start to it as they were reduced to 31/6 inside 7 overs. Just when the Sri Lankan Legends would have sniffed an early finish, out came the man, Nathan Reardon. He played fearless and brilliant cricket to single-handedly take his side towards victory. He just fell 4 short of a well-deserved ton and that ended the Australian Legends' hopes to win this game and in the end, they just fell short by 7 runs.
