So, that's it from this game then. What a fantastic win for Adelaide Strikers Women. Now, this means, Perth will have to sit and wait for other results to unfold in their favour. The happiest with this result though would be Sydney Sixers. Adelaide's win keeps Perry's women in contention for a spot in the semifinals.
Amanda-Jade Wellington is the PLAYER OF THE MATCH. She says that she trusted her game and she tried to hit the ball as hard as she could. Goes onto say that they wanted to finish the season off with a win and she is pleased with the win.
Earlier, after winning the toss, Perth Scorchers opted to bowl first. They took a early wicket but the second wicket partnership looked threatening. After that wicket was also taken, Perth did well to put the plug on the scoring rate and also started taking wickets. It was Wellington's more than handy cameo of 48 which took Adelaide to 159/6. It though looked like Devine and Mooney will clinch this easily, given how they started and were stroking. But Adelaide came back and came back in convincing fashion to stop that juggernaut and further continued taking wickets. In the end, they restricted Devine's women to 156/7 and won by 3 runs.
Adelaide Strikers Women did not get off to the best of starts with the ball. The opening pair of Devine and Mooney were hammering them across the park. But once they got the first wicket, it kept tumbling. And they managed to swing it back in their favour after that. What a fantastic turnaround! Brown, McGrath and Wellington got a wicket each. Coyte was very economical even though she did not get any wickets. Well, Adelaide Strikers may not be in contention for the semis but a win is always great, especially when one is bowing out. And they are all happy with this win.
Perth Scorchers Women got off to a scorching start, not surprising as Devine and Mooney have been in the best of their forms off late. Back-to-back century partnerships for the opening duo and it looked like Sydney would cruise through for a win, courtesy the openers. But there was a twist in the tale! A big one. Devine fell when the score read 118. After that a series of wickets tumbled. Perth went from 118/0 to 138/5. The match hung in the balance. Nicola Bolton was still there and she was striking fairly well. But unfortunately she could not see her side home, losing by 3 runs in the end.
Adelaide Strikers win and that means Sydney Sixers are still in contention for a berth for the semi-finals. Adelaide Strikers Women are elated and why wouldn't they be! For Perth, losing Devine was the turning point and there was nobody to rebuild the innings from there.

OUT! RUN OUT! What a comeback from Strikers! They have won this game out of nowhere! Very full outside off, Peschel drives it to deep cover and takes off for a couple. The fielder throws it to the bowler and Coyte whips the bails off. Bolton was nowhere in the picture. ADELAIDE STRIKERS WIN BY 3 RUNS.

OUT! RUN OUT! Another run out! Barsby knows that she is a goner and she is already walking back wothout waiting for the umpire's decision. Low full toss on middle, Bolton drives it to long on and wants a couple. The fielder throws it to the bowler who whips the bails off. The third umpire is called for and the replays show that Barsby is out of her crease.
There is a referral for a run out. The umpires take it upstairs but Jemma knows she is well short and starts walking. The replays are in and yes, the dive was not enough, Barsby is well short.
9 runs required in the last over. Sarah Coyte will continue and bowl the last over. 8 for a Super Over. Will we have one?
