Right then. That's it from the coverage of this game. The BBL action though continues as Perth Scorchers take on Sydney Thunder at 1545 IST (1015 GMT). Do switch tabs to follow the action live. Cheers!
Shaun Marsh wins the Man of the Match award for his scintillating effort with the blade. He says that it's great to get a few wins, and always a pleasure to contribute to the team's win. Mentions that he has been out for a few months and it feels good to be back with the team and win games. Adds that everyone has been struggling with COVID, but it's good to get a win here. Mentions that Nabi was outstanding and his contributions helped the team win, and hopes the side can carry the winning momentum forward.
Stay tuned for the presentation...
After coming into the game with 8 changes to the side, it was never going to be an easy task for the Heat to go back with some crucial points here. David Grant and Jake Lehmann will surely walk off the field with pride. Jake Lehmann's 65 runs with the blade made sure to get his side to a decent total. Grant couldn’t have asked for a better start to his BBL campaign as he bagged three wickets. All the younger bowlers showed good signs with the ball even though they were taken for a plenty. Mujeeb Ur Rahman and Ronan McDonald took a wicket each as well but the former was very economical.
A partnership changed the game for the Renegades. Sam Harper slipped out in the first over and it looked like the Heat had a sniff but Marsh had other ideas. He along with Finch stitched a 96-run stand to get their side closer to the finish line. Marsh raced away to his FIFTY with a gun-blazing knock but slipped out eventually. Finch followed him to the pavilion soon after. In the end, Nic Maddinson, the Renegades skipper, made sure to get his side over the line.
A dominating performance by Melbourne Renegades. They managed to stay ahead in the chase throughout the game even after losing a wicket in the very first over. Brisbane Heat though fought hard and surely would be happy with the performances the young players have put up for them.

Fuller, on off. Nic Maddinson flicks it towards mid on for a single. And now, MELBOURNE RENEGADES WIN THE GAME BY 5 WICKETS!
What just happened here? According to the umpires the Melbourne Renegades need to score one more run to win but according to the calculations, only 6 runs were required and Nic Maddinson did fire one out of the park. This is very poor from the officials.
