Right then. That is all we have from this clash! We have one more match coming up though. Sydney Thunder will take on Adelaide Strikers at 1:45 pm IST (8:15 am GMT). Our coverage for that clash has started so join my colleagues by switching tabs!
Peter Hatzoglou is the PLAYER OF THE MATCH! He says that he is really grateful to receive the award. States he has got a lot of support around from players like Ashton Agar and Ashton Turner.  Adds it is great to be in a team like this and he hopes he can make the finals. Also says he has played a lot of cricket and knew about the players coming and they did not want to lose against guys who are untried and untested. Ends by saying he enjoyed playing here and there was pressure throughout but chats with other senior players gave him confidence.
Earlier in the day, after electing to bat, the top order of Perth Scorchers got off to a flier but the Stars’ bowlers came back strongly and restricted Perth to 180. Clarke and Rogers got the Stars off to a brilliant start, in fact, turned the game in their favor but once they fell, it all fell apart for Melbourne Stars.
Just like their opponents, Perth’s bowling was a story of two halves. Their bowlers took a real pounding in the first 10. They though did not lose their cool, kept their nerve and came back strongly courtesy of the likes of Andrew Tye, Peter Hatzoglou and Tymal Mills. Especially the first two as they were brilliant and got the key wickets.
A very convincing win for Perth Scorchers in the end but the scorecard doesn’t tell you the whole story. If there was anything that cost the Melbourne Stars, then it is their inexperienced middle order. Their openers got them off to a flier and laid the foundation brilliantly. However, once they fell, the procession began. The Perth Scorchers then managed to rack up the dots which built the pressure and eventually resulted in wickets. The Stars needed either Maxwell or Cartwright to play a big knock but that was not the case.

OUT! RUN OUT! Length ball, down the leg side. Crone misses the pull. The keeper fumbles a bit at first and Ahmad runs to the other end. Crone is not going anywhere and Ahmad reaches the batter's end. The keeper misses the shy at his end and now Crone decides to sacrifice himself as Mills runs him out.
