That is it from here! The next match is between Melbourne Renegades and Melbourne Stars in the same venue. It will be played on January 20, 2021. Join us for that at 1915 local (0815 GMT). Till then, take care and cheers!
Colin Munro is THE PLAYER OF THE MATCH. He is very happy and says that he enjoys batting. Today, he says, he took his time. At first he was run-a-ball 25 and then went bang bang later on. States that it was a fantastic performance from the Perth Scorchers bowlers. Reckons that his side has outstanding bowlers. Adds that they have hit the nets hard. Says that there will be a bit of a break now, for PRS.
Earlier, Scorchers did well to post 174. Colin Munro anchored the innings and looked solid for his 82. He had a good partnership with Josh Inglis. Ashton Turner did well to end the innings with his 24 runs. Brisbane bowlers leaked runs in the death overs. Morne Morkel looked good in his spell of 4 overs where he gave away just 24 runs and picked 2 wickets. Xavier and Kuhnemann bowled well but surprisingly bowled just 1 over each.
Coming to Brisbane Heat's batting, they did not get off to a great start as they lost Bryant early. There was a partnership going between Lynn and Denly but it did not last long as Lynn threw away his wicket. Some batsmen lacked application and that was the reason that nobody could play a big innings. Even Jimmy Peirson could not do much as he had too much to do.
It has been an excellent victory for Perth Scorchers. They bowled well to defend 175. Fawad Ahmed was the pick of the bowlers as he picked 3 wickets. Jhye Richardson, Andrew Tye and Jason Behrendorff took 2 wickets each. Only Aaron Hardie was on the expensive side and went wicketless in his 2 overs.

OUT! CAUGHT! It has been a disappointing performance from Brisbane Heat. Loopy delivery around the off stump zone, MM looked to slog it over long on, looking for six runs. However, he ends up picking Hardie there, to perfection, who comes forward a little and holds onto it. SCORCHERS WIN BY 59 RUNS IN THE END!
Fawad Ahmed is back on.

Misfield and a couple. Full length delivery outside the off stump area, MM taps it to point. Munro, who was on the mike (with the on air commentators) misfields there. Concedes a couple.

OUT! TAKEN! This really is a collapse of massive proportions here. Bazley goes and so does Heat's chances. Length ball, outside the off stump line, James Bazley looked to hammer that over mid off but ends up hitting it straight to him. The fielder there jumps, fumbles at first and looked to drop it.... but does well to hold on in the second attempt.
Matthew Kuhnemann is the new man in.
