Right! That's all from this close game. On Monday, 11th January 2021, Adelaide Strikers will take on Melbourne Stars in match number 36 of the tournament. The action will begin at 1645 local (0815 GMT). Do join us for that. Until then, it is goodbye from our end. Take care!
Daniel Christian is named Player of the Match. He tells that the opposition bowled really well and took a couple of wickets towards the end. Says he just wanted to be there till the end. Says tha he loves batting and it is nice that he was able to finish the game for the team. On his partnership with the skipper, he says that it was an important stand. Tells that he was happy to cash-in in that 2 Power Surge over. Praises Brathwaite for his superb bowling performance. Tells that the boys are happy to get over the line after their poor performance in the last game.
It was a complete bowling performance from the Sixers. Jackson Bird struck early while Steve O'Keefe kept things tight from the other end. Brathwaite arrived with the ball and struck 4 times to leave the opposition reeling. Jake Bird did the job towards the end and ended up with a 3-fer. Eventually, the score that they stopped the opposition to, was scaled down on the last ball by their team.
Earlier in the game, Sixers won the toss and opted to chase. And their bowlers struck early and regularly. Bryant, Denly and Burns failed to get going and were removed for a low score. Skipper Lynn though held onto his end and brought up a fine 50 with Peirson giving him a company for a brief. Lynn got dismissed and the Heat lost track again. Gregory hit a couple of sixes to take the total near to 150.
The Heat bowlers did really well with the ball early on. However, skipper Lynn's strategy of bowling out overs of Wildermuth and Mujeeb in one go didn't help them. It was the Power Surge that turned things against them as Sixers smashed 37 runs off them. Bazley was superb in his 3-over spell. He gave just 6 in the penultimate over to put pressure on the opposition. However, with the first ball of the final over sailing over the ropes, things got a bit tough. Christian, with all his experience, made sure the Sixers were on the wrong side at the end of the game.
Chasing the total, the Sixers were off to a poor start. Philippe failed to get going and got out in the 2nd over of the chase. Vince hit a couple of good strokes but departed and Edwards followed him too. Silk failed to leave any impact with the bat either. Hughes, the skipper, then along with Christian added important runs to bag the Bash Boost Point. The duo then got going with both of them getting to their half tons. At one stage, it looked like we might get a result with a few balls left but Hughes got dismissed. However, Christian stayed till the end to take the team over the line.
Take a bow, Daniel Christian! What a stunning performance and what a stunning victory for the men in Magenta. They kept things really tight with the ball in the first innings. They started really poorly with the bat but two Daniels turned things around with the willow. Towards the end, it came down to the last ball but Christian held his nerve to hit the winning run.

FOUR! Here's the winning run! Bartlett misses out the yorker attempt and ends up bowling a high full toss. To make the matters worst, he bowls it down the leg side. Easy for Christian. He flicks it uppishly but away from the backward square leg fielder for a boundary. The Sixers win by 3 wickets.
Christian pulls out. Bartlett was running in but Christian bails out. Pressure.
Big meeting going on! Only a single needed. A dot will mean Super Over. Anyone?

NOT OUT! Christian is safe! Superb running between the wickets. A fine ball from Barlett. Full and outside off, Daniel can only hit it towards mid off. Christian takes the first run and goes for the second. The two is not on but the big man wants the strike. He makes his crease with a dive. The third umpire is called for. Replays roll in and it shows that Christian is in. The scores are level now.

In the air... safe! Is that a drop? Full and outside off, Christial looks to slam it over long off but he fails to connect it as well as he wanted. That went high in the air. It is wide of the long off fielder who runs to his left. Gets to the ball but fails to hold on.

Lovely wide yorker outside off, Christian reaches out and looks to hit but misses. Pressure on him now.

Short and wide outside off, Christian looks to slam it but ends up mistiming it towards long off. Says no for the single.

SIX! BOOM! What a way to start the over. Fifty with a massive biggie. A fuller ball right in the slot. Christian thumps it over deep mid-wicket for a huge six. A stunning knock.
Xavier Barlett to bowl the final over. 11 needed in the final over.

Just a single! Top, top over from Bazley. Very full and around off, Christian can only dig it out for a single onto the pitch.

FOUR! Christian finds the fence this time. Full and outside off, Christian nails the drive through extra cover. Very important boundary.
