In 2015, Litton Das made his debut abroad. Even after nine years, the cricketer hasn’t shown that he can be a consistent hitter for Bangladesh. The 29-year-old pulled off an incredible turnaround after being removed from the team at one time, and he is currently one of the most reliable batters on the Bangladesh squad.
One of Litton’s most significant knocks of his career came in the just finished Test series against Pakistan. Following Bangladesh’s downfall to 26/6, the player struck for 138 runs, enabling the visitors to reach 262 runs in the opening innings—12 runs less than Pakistan managed.
Thanks to an outstanding performance from the bowling unit in the second innings, Bangladesh went on to win the match at Rawalpindi. After being named Player of the Match, Litton Das will now have to lead the team against India. September 19 marks the start of the two-match Test series, and in the lead-up, Litton said it’s time for him to step up as a senior cricket player.
I’ve been involved in [international] cricket for the past nine or ten years. That’s how much experience I have. It’s time to accept accountability now. When will I accept responsibility, if not now?” The Daily Star cited Litton as stating.
For us, the India series will be difficult: Litton Das
Bangladesh is putting in a lot of training in advance of the India series. Litton stated that the away series against the team captained by Rohit Sharma will be difficult, particularly because the games will be played with unique balls. He said that after the first session, it’s hard to face the SG balls, and India would like to take advantage of it.

It will be difficult for us to win the India series. We are playing as many of our main bowlers [at the nets] as we can to prepare. It will be challenging because, with the Kookaburra ball, things grow harder while the ball is new and easier as it gets older. However, Litton noted that with the SG ball, it is slightly easier when it is fresh and harder when it is old.
