Liam Livingstone, an all-rounder for England, suffered an injury to his right knee while playing in the opening match of the Test series against Pakistan on Monday, and it was determined that he will not be able to play in any other matches of the series.
On day two, on Friday, the 29-year-old Livingstone, who had just made his debut in a test match at this location, wrenched his knee while fielding on the boundary. He did not take any part in Pakistan’s first innings and was not on the field at any point.
He batted for England in their second innings and scored 7 runs, all of which were undefeated; nonetheless, it was obvious that he was in a lot of pain as he walked between the wickets. During England’s first innings, he had scored nine runs.
Because to an injury to his right knee, England Men’s all-rounder Liam Livingstone will not be able to participate in the remainder of the Test series against Pakistan, according to a statement released by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB).
On Tuesday, he will fly back to the United Kingdom and begin his rehabilitation with the separate medical teams from the ECB and Lancashire.
At this point in time, England have not decided whether they will call up a replacement for Livingstone.
On a surface that was rather calm in Pindi, England scored 657 runs before being all out, with four batters hitting the century mark. In response, Pakistan scored 579 runs, with three of their batters reaching the three-digit mark.
After declaring their second innings at a score of 264 for 7, England set Pakistan a target score of 343 in order to win the Test match.
The second test will start on December 9 in Multan, and the third and final test will start in Karachi on December 17. Both tests will be played in Pakistan.
