On Thursday, August 29, in New Delhi, the Legends League Cricket (LLC) 2024 auction took place. As teams attempted to put up competitive rosters for the forthcoming season of the lucrative competition, a number of well-known players were up for grabs in the auction.
The third round of the competition, which begins on September 20, will include six teams: the Gujarat Giants, India Capitals, Hyderabad, Manipal Tigers, Odisha Konark Suryas, and Southern Superstars. Barkatullah Khan Stadium in Jodhpur will host the T20 type competition. On October 16, the final is scheduled to take place in Srinagar’s Bakshi Stadium.
Prior to the auction, Gujarat Giants had secured the services of Shikhar Dhawan, who announced his retirement from both domestic and international cricket on August 24. For the upcoming season, his former teammate from India, Dinesh Karthik, has joined Southern Superstars.
Several renowned cricket players were unsuccessful in finding teams at the auction. This includes, among others, Graeme Swann, Aaron Finch, Brett Lee, Aaron Amla, and Tillakaratne Dilshan. A few Indian cricketers that weren’t sold at the auction are Pragyan Ojha, RP Singh, and Ashoke Dinda.
At the LLC auction 2024, Isuru Udana, a former seam-bowling all-rounder from Sri Lanka, was the most expensive player. For an astounding INR 61.97 Lakh, Urbanrisers Hyderabad was able to hire him.

Cricket fans had the opportunity to see some thrilling cricket in the previous season as the top players lit up the competition with an incredible show. In a high-scoring final at the Lalabhai Contractor Stadium in Surat, the Harbhajan Singh-led Manipal Tigers defeated Suresh Raina’s Urbanrisers Hyderabad by five wickets.
