The Proteas wrap off a two-week training camp before beginning the eagerly awaited cricket season. However, the batting-heavy India Women’s team will test their bowlers. The team led by Laura Wolvaardt may face challenges from Smriti Mandhana, Harmanpreet Kaur, Shafali Verma, and Richa Ghosh, who have all excelled in the shorter format. The South African captain, nevertheless, has stated that the side will use its alternatives wisely.
For their lengthy tour, the South Africa Women’s Cricket Team has arrived in India. The Proteas will play the Indian Women’s Team in three weeks with one special test, three ODIs, and three T20Is. The first ODI will begin on June 16 at Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. Prior to the match, the South African women’s team will play the Board President’s XI.
It will be a hard tour that will put our bowling lineup to the test, particularly if the ground at Chinnaswamy is as flat as it was during the IPL. We’re going to choose our alternatives extremely wisely. They have elite athletes, and the Indian hitters have been doing well and are explosive due to their WPL expertise. Thus, our bowling attack’s pivotal point will be our plan A. We have the appropriate guys and the talent, but we need to prepare for every batter individually,” Wolvaardt stated, as cited by TOI.
India Women are ready for series in multiple formats.
June 16 is when the ODI series will start, and it will end on June 16, 2023. Both sides will then make their way to Chennai for the June 28 one-off Test. After the Test, which starts on July 5, there will be a T20I series. The inclusion of Jemimah Rodrigues and Pooja Vastrakar, two of India’s best batters, in the squad is contingent upon their fitness.
