George Dockrell, an all-rounder for Ireland, will be an overseas addition to the Lancashire Lightning team for the duration of the Vitality Blast T20 tournament this summer.
Dockrell will be added to the squad immediately for the Emirates Old Trafford match against Notts Outlaws. He will stay in the squad for all subsequent games, including any potential September knockout matches.
Regarding the signing, George Dockrell said the following:
“I am excited to help Lancashire Lightning push for some hardware this season. I am delighted to join the Club for the remainder of this summer’s Vitality Blast.” With two crucial home games left, we are in a great position in the North Group and are hoping to book the crucial home quarterfinal at Emirates Old Trafford in September.
Dale Benkenstein, the head coach of Lancashire, also stated:
“Adding George to our team for the remainder of the Vitality Blast this year makes us extremely happy. Given the possibility of September knockout round matches and the unpredictability of player availability, George gives us an additional international alternative for the later stages.

He will immediately be included in the squad for this week’s final two group stage games. He can provide us with a skilled left-arm spin option and, as he has shown on the international arena with Ireland, can also win games with the bat in the finishing role.
