All-around player Kyle Mayers gained rapid notoriety after showcasing an incredible feat of athleticism during a match in the ongoing Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2024. Mayers made the outstanding catch in a game between the St. Lucia Kings and the St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots.
The captain of the Kings, Faf du Plessis, tried to drive Anrich Nortje’s delivery over mid-wicket on the second ball of the fifth over of the second innings. But the ball ended up in mid-on.
When Kyle Mayers spotted the ball, he spun around and made an incredible grab that saw Faf du Plessis out for two runs. The identical video clip has been widely shared on social media.

St. Lucia Kings triumph decisively
Concerning the game, the St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots and the St. Lucia Kings faced each other, with the Patriots taking the field first. Evin Lewis gave the team a memorable start to their innings, scoring 100* runs in just 54 deliveries.
After Andre Fletcher was out for one run, Kyle Mayers amassed 92 runs off of 62 balls. The Patriots amassed 201 runs in the opening innings while taking just three wickets. David Wiese was the lone wicket taker for Lucia Kings, having claimed two wickets.
The team had a poor start as they entered to chase the target, as openers Johnson Charles and Faf du Plessis scored two and twelve runs, respectively. Six more runs were added to the score by Ackeem Auguste.
